This was all inspired from my amazing father, Todd Boswell. In November of 2012 he was diagnosed with breast cancer. Yes you heard that correctly, males can get breast cancer too. He beat cancer that round but it made a return in May of 2017.
At the point of it’s return my father’s cancer was considered terminal. While my dad was receiving treatment at The Huntsman Cancer Institute, a conversation was sparked- if your loved one is diagnosed with cancer do you go bankrupt trying to save them or do nothing hopelessly?
I never thought that someone should have to choose the well-being of their loved one due to the lack of insurance coverage or finances to pay for the medical bills. My inspiration for the LIFE 5k is to give financial support to the fighters of breast cancer in times of need. My hope is to support them and let them know they are not alone! Your participation in the event would help tremendously supporting our loved ones who shouldn’t have to worry about their bills while they are fighting for their life.
